Alex, an ATP Touring Professional, brought a world-class tennis pedigree and a wealth of invaluable experiences to Gotham Tennis Academy as Director of Tennis in 2009. He was instrumental in integrating the latest state-of-the art training and instruction methods into Gotham Tennis Academy programs, especially our Advanced Training and Elite Training Programs. Alex is a former member of the United States Davis Cup Team and currently plays World Team Tennis as a member of the Philadelphia Freedoms.
Born in Moscow, Russia and raised in Miami, Alex played professional tennis for the past seven years achieving a career high world ranking of #97 on the Men’s Professional ATP Tour. Over the course of his career, he has recorded wins over Andy Roddick, James Blake, Tommy Haas, and Fernando Gonzales. He has played against all-time greats such as Roger Federer, Andre Agassi, and Marat Safin. Alex also enjoyed a stellar junior career winning the USTA Boy’s National Championships twice.
